Children’s Lessons

Children wishing to take saxophone lessons generally begin with their school’s band and take private lessons. Wimer Music Studio works with the student using music given to the student, and also challenges the student by teaching

beyond. A beginning book we recommend is The Complete Saxophone Player. Through private lessons, students learn beyond what a quick band lesson can teach, and we will dive into technique, sound quality, rhythm, and fun.

Adult Lessons

There are a couple of different adult tracks we offer, depending on your background.

Background A: You already have some knowledge of the saxophone or another instrument. If this is the case, the introductory lesson is used to determine what you know and what will be the best course of action to further your musical gift.

Background B: You are completely new to the saxophone, having never played it or another instrument. In this case, we suggest beginning with the book The Complete Saxophone Player, or a book likewise. These lessons will begin teaching the basics. From there, we will discover your gift as we learn various styles and music that interest you.
